Loaves and Fishes

The Loaves and Fishes Ministry was formed for community and parish outreach. Four times a year St Mark would donate food or other items to a local charity. In 2010 it was decided to give Thanksgiving food boxes to our parish families in need. Many were unemployed or underemployed, or simply not earning enough money to buy Thanksgiving foods. We wanted these families to share a Thanksgiving meal at home with their families instead of a soup kitchen. Food was donated from our school and the weekend before at all Mass celebrations. We also collected $25.00 gift cards to local markets for the purchase of perishable foods.

A new effort provided food, pajamas, coats, gift cards and books for Christmas season.
