Watch the Trailer of the New Documentary NOTHING WASTED

The Nothing Wasted movie teaser on October 5th was truly an eventful night. We began with celebrating Mass with Bishop Matthew Elshoff, and continued with an amazing cocktail party and fundraiser in honor of the Food Pantry. Film Director Fr. Luis walked us through the different components of the documentary which was nothing short of inspirational. The teasers highlighted who we are as a St. Mark Parish: community oriented, and giving.  Through out the night, community members and parishioners, new and former, reconnected over what St. Mark Church calls us to be - loving neighbors and disciples of Christ. As you step into the Parish Hall, one can feel the emotional energy of excitement, joy, and Lion pride. This experience overflowed through out the rest of the evening to our Raise the Paddle fundraiser where we raised $15,000! Upon commencing our fundraiser, the final raffle winners were announced.

The cherry on top was brought by Councilwoman Tracy Park. It is right and just that our local authorities have recognition for the contribution churches make to the community. At the end of the 5:30 Mass, Ms. Park spoke kind words to the congregation, and handed a plaque to Fr Albert, acknowledging the positive impact Saint Mark has had over the last century. And not only that, after hearing about our premiere on December 1st, she immediately committed to be there, representing the City of Los Angeles. I hope many parishioners who couldn’t get in last Saturday, will be able to participate this time.

Did you miss the opportunity to catch the preview? Don't worry because you can watch the real thing on December 1st. The cocktail party will begin on the Garfield lawn at 5:00pm and the Red Carpet Premiere will occur in the Parish Hall at 6:00pm. Purchase your $10 tickets by pressing on the button below.
